2015 Yamaha R1 coming to India in the first half of 2015

Unveiled at the 2014 EICMA in Milan, Italy, the 2015 Yamaha R1 will arrive in India by the first half of 2015. The bike is expected to be launched here in the month of March, followed by advance bookings, while deliveries might start soon after that. The price of the bike would be Rs. 2-3 lacs higher than the current version available in India at Rs. 15.6 lacs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The extra cost will be due to some major upgrades in the make.
Style of the 2015 Yamaha R1 is totally different from the current version and it looks inspired by the company's MotoGP machine- YZR-M1. The new version has a very practical design with a front air bay, twin projector headlamps, better aerodynamic fairing and visor, MotoGP inspired fuel tank and seating. The under seat dual exhaust of the bike has also been replaced by a side-slung type one. Tail lamp of the bike is looking sportier along with the LED turn indicators. The new seat cowls has been designed for better aerodynamics as well as enhanced stability of the rear part.
Powered by a new CP4 crossplane engine, displacing 998cc, the 2015 Yamaha R1 delivers 200hp of raw power along with a peak torque of 112.4Nm. The upgraded version features a highly advanced electronic package with a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) with Gyro/G sensors that constantly senses chassis motion in 3D, allowing better control over traction, slides, front wheel lift, braking and launches.
The bike features banking sensitive traction control/slide control, front lift control, launch control, Racing ABS/unified brake system, which will make it one of the most advanced motorcycles on the Indian roads. It comes with One-click' adjustable riding modes and a TFT LCD instrument panel providing better reading in both day and night time.
