The year 2016 is going stupendously well for motorcycle lovers. After a successful stint at the Auto Expo 2016 the motorcycle industry also had a good time at the recently concluded 2016 IBW, and the motorcycle industry has now come up with amazing surprises from the Kawasaki fleet. Today, at Gurgaon, the Japanese motorcycle maker, Kawasaki has launched the updated versions of two of its superbikes - the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R and ZX-10R at Rs. 17.9 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi) and 16.4 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
Aesthetically, both the motorcycles are likely to remain same but will feature some mechanical upgrades. The smaller - Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R gets an upgraded engine that will produce the same 200PS of power and delivers better mid-range torque for improved acceleration. The company claims that the engine is now tuned for a better response thanks to a low-inertia crankshaft. The upgraded lighter frame of the motorcycle is now combined with a new set of electronics such as Bosch inertial measurement unit and an improved Ohlins steering damper to bring supreme performance. Even the suspension of the motorcycle is now developed in partnership with Kawasaki's WBSK team and both the shock absorbers are developed by Showa.
Kawasaki ZX-14R, on the other hand, is left relatively untouched. However, the engine of motorcycle does get revisions to ECU and exhaust to make it compliant with EURO IV emission norms. Its 1441cc inline 4 mill makes the maximum power of 210PS with Ram air and peak torque of 158Nm at 7,500rpm. Its optimized chassis and retuned suspension brings better stability during high speeds and improves handling. Other important features of the motorcycle include three power modes, traction control, ABS, and Ohlin suspension.
