From big ADVs, sporty classics, maxi-scooters, to naked streetfighters and a lot more!
The Auto Expo is about to take place in a few weeks and is a particularly enjoyable time for the enthusiast as we see a lot of concepts being unveiled and vehicles being launched. Let’s have a look at which performance bikes and scooters we expect to see at this year’s Auto Expo.
BMW Motorrad
BMW Motorrad India is going to launch the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure and the new S 1000 RR in India. The R 1300 GSA will be the top-of-the-line adventure bike from the Bavarian manufacturer in India and will take the place of R 1250 GSA.
The flagship BMW adventure bike gets a substantially larger fuel tank than the R 1300 GS while sharing the same 1300cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled boxer engine which makes 145PS and 149Nm which is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The motorcycle gets all the features you could ever want and is made to wander the globe without having to break a sweat.
The all-new BMW S 1000 RR is a supersport from the German manufacturer made to set racetracks, and your hearts, on fire. The new 2025 version gets an even more aggressive fairing than its previous model which is done to improve down force at high speeds and during cornering. The S 1000 RR is powered by an inline-four liquid-cooled engine which makes 205PS and 112Nm which is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. This too gets all the features to make riding on the track a breeze, provided you have the skillset.
Yamaha Motors
Yamaha is expected to launch the much-anticipated MT-09 naked motorcycle and showcase the N-Max maxi-scooter at the Auto Expo..
The Yamaha MT-09 is powered by an 890cc, liquid-cooled, crossplane-three cylinder motor that produces 119PS and 93Nm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox and the slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter are standard. The motorcycle is an absolute hoot to ride while having a linear power delivery which is very easy to manage, making it an excellent choice for anyone who is looking to upgrade from a lower segment.
The Yamaha N-Max 155 is a maxi-styled scooter from the Japanese manufacturer. With the rise in popularity of the maxi-scooter segment in India, it would make perfect sense for Yamaha to launch the N-Max 155. The scooter gets the same engine as the Yamaha R15 but in a different state of tune and makes 15.3PS and 13.9Nm paired with a CVT gearbox. The N-Max offers great performance with the added comfort of a maxi-scooter and makes for a great vehicle for going the distance on a scooter. Yamaha does have the Aerox 155 in India which also shares its engine with the R15 but is catered more towards the young audience and offers a more sporty riding experience, the N-Max 155 will appeal to a wider range of audience, offers a better riding experience for touring and will gather more attention altogether.
Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield is expected to display the Classic 650 in India at this Auto Expo. The Classic name suggests that it would be an easy going motorcycle but this is where you will be surprised. It gets the same engine as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 but is lightly tweaked 647.95cc air & oil-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 47.6PS and 52Nm, with a 6-speed gearbox. The Classic 650 is expected to launch by the end of this month or early next month.
TVS Motors
TVS could launch its much anticipated RTX 300 adventure motorcycle at the 2025 Auto Expo. The motorcycle has been spied testing earlier and is close to its final production avatar. It is expected to receive the brand-new RT-XD4 300cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which was unveiled at TVS MotoSoul event in 2024. The engine makes 35PS and 28.5Nm. TVS is expected to go all-out on the upcoming ADV by giving it a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity and an extensive list of features.
