KTM is going to unveil the 2017 Husqvarna Vitpilen production models on November 8 at the 2016 EICMA in Milan, Italy.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 401

It has been quite a long time that we’ve been listing that KTM will bring new Husqvarna street bike models based on its Vitpilen and Svartpilen concepts. Now, the time has come when we will get to see the first production models of the series. The company has released a new teaser video for the upcoming bikes showing November 8 as the date and the 2016 EICMA show as the venue for their debut.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 401

Both the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 concepts were showcased at the 2014 EICMA, and uses the platform of the KTM 390 Duke. Then, the company unveiled a bigger 690 Duke-based Vitpilen 701 concept at the 2015 EICMA but the production models were confirmed with the release of KTM's annual report in the end of March 2016.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 701

The official release said: “For 2017 the next step will be realised with the arrival of the first two Vitpilen production models.” Now, the company confirms the “first two Vitpilen production models” for 2017, but wait! The release also says, “The upcoming segment-redefining Vitpilen and Svartpilen production models will set Husqvarna Motorcycles on a blazing trajectory to become Europe’s third-largest motorcycle producer – with the aim of doing so by 2020,” which confirms the Svartpilen production model as well.

If we look at the bike teased in the video it looks exactly similar to the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 concept, which confirms the first production model of the series that is coming to the EICMA show. However, the annual report suggests that two models could be unveiled in Milan on November 8. The confusion is not just among the Vitpilen 701 and the Svartpilen 401, but another report suggests that the company could unveil the Vitpilen 125, deriving its power mill from the KTM 125 Duke. We also believe that the company could unveil the identical production models of the Vitpilen 125 and 401 at the 2016 EICMA, while the remaining models can be expected for the next year. Now, let's just wait and watch for November 8 to get exact details on the upcoming production models from Husqvarna, which will be launched by early-2017.
