As of now, both motorcycles do not meet new European emission norms
- The TRK 502 and 502X get new paint options and decals.
- Both motorcycles now come equipped with backlit switchgear, a revised seat and restyled mirrors.
- Benelli also unveiled the 2020 TNT 600i at the premiere motorcycle show.
While the Benelli Leoncino 800 was the most talked-about motorcycle at the Italian bike maker’s pavilion at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show, it also unveiled its 2020 model lineup. The 2020 TRK 502 and the 502X have received cosmetic updates in the form of new paint options, backlit switchgear, a revised seat, adjustable brake and clutch levers and new decals. However, we were expecting Benelli to bring the Euro 5/BS6-compliant models, but it seems like we will be getting the updated powertrain only after the new emission norms kick in.
Both motorcycles share the same underpinnings and are powered by the same engine as well. The 500cc in-line two-cylinder motor produces 47.5PS and 46Nm of torque. However, once the new Euro 5/BS6-compliant variants come in, this motor might have a different power output than the existing motor.
On a side note, Benelli also unveiled the 2020 TNT 600i, which too has gone under the knife. And just like the TRK twins, the new TNT 600i isn’t Euro 5/BS6-compliant either, hinting that it might not come to our shores any time soon. We have done a detailed report about the new TNT 600i, which you can read here.
