2021 TVS NTorq 125 Race XP: All You Need To Know

Modified On Jul 7, 2021 12:55 PM By Punya Sharma for TVS NTORQ 125

A lowdown on India’s most powerful 125cc scooter

We were left a little disheartened with the BS6 update of the TVS NTorq. Why? Because it lost some of the excitement of the BS4 model. Thankfully, TVS Motors has brought the zestiness back with the launch of the NTorq 125 Race XP, the new top-of-the-line variant in the lineup. There are some interesting tweaks to the NTorq Race XP, and here’s everything you need to know about it:

A Red Hot Livery

There isn’t a shortage of colour options for the NTorq 125, yet TVS has given the Race XP a striking new livery to help it stamp its authority. Dominating the livery is the sportiest colour out there: red. The front shrouds, alloy wheels, and stitching on the seat are all red and certainly give the Race XP a charm of its own. Topping all this are grey/white panels and new graphics.

A Technological Marvel

The NTorq 125, without a doubt, is one of the most technologically advanced 125cc scooters in India. But the NTorq 125 Race XP takes it up a notch. You see, apart from the standard (and impressive) features like the fully digital instrument cluster with extensive app connectivity features, a full-LED headlamp, alloy wheels, a USB port and a boot light, TVS has now thrown in a segment-first voice-assist feature. The system supports 15 different commands and covers various functions such as mode change, navigation, console brightness adjustment, and DnD mode.

Most Powerful 125cc Scooter In India

The NTorq 125 Race XP is powered by the same BS6-compliant 124cc single-cylinder motor, drawn from the other variants. However, the engineers have extracted more juice from it by improving combustion, thus bumping the power to 10.2PS and 10.8Nm, making it the most powerful 125cc scooter in India.

Not only this, in true TVS fashion, the Race XP gets two riding modes -- Race and Street -- a first for any ICE scooter in India. TVS claims these modes help squeeze out the extra juice from the motor and can propel the Race XP to a top speed of 98kmph!

Slightly Pricier But Still A Bargain

At Rs 83,275 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the NTorq Race XP costs Rs 4,900 and Rs 12,200 dearer than the Race Edition and the STD NTorq, respectively. But we feel it justifies the premium rather well, given the bump in power, segment-first features, and not to forget, the new livery.

In the 125cc space, the NTorq Race XP goes against the top models of the Suzuki Burgman Street and the Honda Grazia. The Race XP undercuts both and offers an unmatched price-to-power and price-to-feature ratio.
