(Update: Aprilia Storm 125 Launched In India At Rs 65,000)
Booking amount set at a maximum of Rs 5,000. Aprilia Storm 125 deliveries to commence soon. Gets a couple of cosmetic and mechanical changes compared to the SR 125.Aprilia dealerships across India have confirmed the unofficial launch of the much-anticipated Storm 125. Priced at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it’s the most affordable way to hop onto the Aprilia bandwagon. Customers can book the scooter for a token amount varying between Rs 500 to Rs 5,000, depending on the dealership. On the other hand, you’d have to wait for approximately one to two weeks for deliveries to commence.
The Storm 125 shares its underpinnings with the Aprilia SR 125. However, the former features a couple of cosmetic and mechanical changes to set itself apart from its sibling. For instance, the Storm 125 comes in two colour options for now - matte yellow and matte red - while the SR 125 is offered in three - grey, blue and yellow. Apart from this, the Storm 125 sports smaller 12-inch wheels wrapped with chunky dual-purpose tyres measuring 120/80-section at the front and 130/80-section at the rear. It also features rugged graphics that enhances its offroad-centric demeanour. The Storm 125 comes with a single-piece grab rail that sits taller than the sporty split grab handle on the SR 125.
Both scooters share the same 124.49cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 9.6PS at 7250rpm and a peak torque of 9.9Nm at 6250rpm. Telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear handle suspension duties. That said, the Storm’s braking setup comprises of drum brakes at either end paired with combined braking system (CBS) as opposed to a disc brake up front, as showcased on the model on display at the 2018 Auto Expo.
In terms of competition, the Aprilia Storm 125 goes up against the TVS NTorq 125, Honda Grazia and the soon-to-be-launched Hero Maestro Edge 125.
