Design
The Aprilia Tuono 457 is a naked bike which is based upon the RS 457. The Tuono ditches the fairing for a more street-oriented naked look and gets a straight upright handlebar in place of the clip-ons found on the RS 457. This gives the Tuono a more relaxed riding posture. The motorcycle will be offered in a single variant and two colour options: a white/sliver paint scheme and a red/black paint scheme.
Engine and Underpinnings
The Aprilia Tuono 457 will be powered by the same 457cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine as the RS 457, which makes 47.55PS and 43.5Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. It will share the same chassis as well. The suspension setup will comprise of an inverted fork and a monoshock, both with preload adjustability. Braking duties will be handled by a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The bike will have 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
Features
In terms of features, the Aprilia Tuono 457 will get the same TFT display as the RS 457. The 5-inch TFT supports smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. It has 3 riding modes: Eco, Sport and Rain, switchable traction control, and switchable ABS for the rear wheel.
Expected Price and Rivals
The Aprilia Tuono 457 could be priced at Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) and once launched, will rival the KTM 390 Duke and the Yamaha MT-03 in India.
Aprilia RS 457
Aprilia has increased the price of the RS 457 in India and has received a price hike of Rs 10,000 on the ex-showroom value. The motorcycle is now priced at Rs 4,20,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
