Royal Enfield Himalayan 650

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 has been spotted testing for the first time. Here’s everything you need to know.

It comes with a typical ADV like design, with the raised flyscreen, wide handlebars and muscular tank. It is powered by the same 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine as the Super Meteor 650, on the cruiser it produces 47.45PS and 52Nm.

The bike gets a long travel inverted fork at the front, and a monoshock at the rear. The bike rolls on what appears to be 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, with tube tyres. Braking duties are handled by twin-petal discs at front, making this the first Royal Enfield bike to get twin-disc brakes.

In terms of features, it will likely come with the same 5-inch TFT console as the Himalayan 450, with features such as call/SMS alerts, GoogleMaps navigation and music control.

It is expected to come at a price of Rs 4 to 4.2 lakh ex-showroom and will go up against other 650cc ADVs like the Kawasaki Versys 650 and Moto Morini X-Cape 650.
