Quick News Highlights:
Ather Rizta’s instrument console screen now gets 8 new Indian regional languages
Languages include Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada
The languages will be available as an OTA (Over-The-Air) update
Ather Energy has introduced a new multi-language interface for its Rizta electric scooter, which now supports up to eight regional languages. Starting with Hindi, the new instrument console compatibility will expand to Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, in addition to English. This update will be available to existing Ather customers through an over-the-air (OTA) update, beginning with Hindi, followed by the other regional languages.
Ather Energy’s decision to offer this feature comes in response to a strong preference among Indian consumers for digital content in regional languages. The ‘Internet in India 2024’ report by IAMAI and Kantar reveals that 98% of internet users accessed content in regional languages last year, further highlighting the importance of making digital interactions more accessible and familiar.
The multi-language dashboard will be available on the top-spec Ather Rizta Z variant. The update will allow riders to interact with their scooters in a language of their choice, making the experience more personal and user-friendly.
Features Already Available
In addition to supporting multiple languages, the AtherStack platform, which powers the Rizta’s digital interface already offers several features. These include FallSafe detection, AutoHold, WhatsApp notifications, live location sharing, and Alexa integration. Additionally, the Rizta Z comes equipped with Skid Control (traction control).
Battery And Motor
The Rizta Z is available with a total of two battery pack options: a 2.9kWh pack offering 123km of range and a 3.7kWh pack that extends the range to 159km {both Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) claimed figures}. The scooter’s motor delivers 4.3kW and 22Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in a claimed 4.7 seconds, and has a top speed capped at 80kmph across all variants. The Ather Rizta Z is priced between Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom).
