Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Online Bookings To Commence Soon
Bajaj could officially launch the all-electric Chetak next month
Bajaj will first launch the Chetak in Pune followed by Bengaluru. The all-electric scooter could be priced around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).Earlier this month, Bajaj forayed into the EV space by unveiling the all-electric Chetak. As of now, the Pune-based manufacturer hasn’t revealed the launch date or the price of the electric scooter. But according to our dealer sources, the company might commence bookings sometime next month. What’s more interesting is that Bajaj might add the option of booking the electric scooter online as well. However, there’s no word from Bajaj officials or KTM dealerships about the booking amount.
Initially, Bajaj will sell the all-electric Chetak in Pune followed by Bengaluru. Bajaj isn’t the only manufacturer which has chosen to launch its electric two-wheeler in a phased manner. We have already seen Revolt and Ather Energy take the same approach earlier this year. One of the key reasons why manufacturers prefer Pune or Bengaluru over other cities is because when it comes to charging infrastructure, these two cities have an upper hand over the rest of them.
Speaking of the all-electric Chetak, it gets all the latest bells and whistles that you’d expect from a modern electric two-wheeler. For instance, it gets a digital instrument cluster, ride modes, LED lighting system, a keyless ignition system and Bluetooth connectivity! Want to know more about Bajaj’s first all-electric scooter? Step right here.
For now, there’s no word from the company about its price yet. However, we expect it to be priced around Rs 1 lakh. When launched, the all-electric Chetak will go up against the Ather 450, which is still the top-dog in the electric scooter segment.
