Bajaj Chetak Receives Another Price Hike
Dearer by over Rs 27,000!
At the beginning of March, prices for the Bajaj Chetak started at a mere Rs 1 lakh. We’re just about halfway through April and the e-scooter now costs a minimum of Rs 1,42,620! That’s because it has just received its second price hike in as many months.

A month back, the two variants saw hikes of Rs 15,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively, and now, prices have gone up by over Rs 27,000 once again! We were as surprised as you are about this massive increment, so we reached out to Bajaj for an explanation. And the reason for the hike is that the Chetak isn’t available with a FAME-II subsidy at the moment. Once this subsidy is granted by the government, prices are likely to reduce drastically.
The updated prices are applicable for deliveries against all bookings made on April 13 and 14. Bookings for the Chetak are now closed once again, though Bajaj is accepting registrations for future bookings, as and when the window reopens. The e-scooter continues to be available only in Pune and Bengaluru at the moment.
