Production of the Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 has been suspended as the company is updating them with BS-IV engines.
The Pune-based bikemaker, Bajaj Auto, is gradually updating its 2017 line-up with BS-IV (Bharat Stage - IV) compliant engines. After launching the updated Pulsar 220F, the company seems all set to introduce the 2017 Pulsar AS models with the same update soon. Production of both the Pulsar AS150 and the AS200 has already been suspended for now and we can expect to see their 2017 models by the end of this year.
Bajaj is one of the leading two-wheeler exporters from India and ranks third in the overall sales in the country. However, sales of the Pulsar AS twins have been slow and below expectations of the manufacturer. Now, we have to see that how the 2017 models of the bikes will perform in the market.
Apart from the BS-IV update, there won't be any other alterations in the motors and they will continue to deliver the same performance with lesser emissions. The Pulsar AS150 comes with a 149.5cc, air-cooled, 4-valve, DTS-i engine that makes 17PS of power. On the other hand, the Pulsar AS200 gets a bigger 199.5cc liquid-cooled motor, delivering 23.5PS.
Apart from a few minor updates, most of the components and cycle parts of the bikes are expected to remain untouched. Both the 2017 Pulsar AS150 and AS200 will also get new colours.
As we mentioned above, Bajaj is working on updating all the 2017 Pulsars and the company will make a formal announcement for the same in December 2016.
