BMW 1000XR

BMW Motorrad is the motorcycle brand of German automaker, BMW, which entered the Indian market in 2010. By June 2012, the company was successfully able to sell 117 motorcycles in India. Presently, BMW motorcycles are imported in the country by Navnit Motors. The German Motorcycle maker is known for producing powerful products with advanced technology. So far, BMW bikes have made their presence felt in the country and 2016 is going to be no exception. This year, the company is planning to launch 1000XR at the Auto Expo next month. With the launch of S 1000XR, the German bike maker is looking to expand its exciting S range of motorcycles.

BMW 1000XR

The XR will be the fourth member in BMW S fleet after - the S 1000RR, HP4, and S 1000R roadster. The whole S range is known for their highly powered 4 cylinder engines and extreme sports biased performance. The XR will take the ‘Adventure Sports’ category with added more dynamic character and safety. Its 999cc in-line four powertrain pumps out 158.8bhp of power and highest torque of 112Nm. The bike features Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). The bike comes with two riding modes namely - rain and road. The launch of BMW S 1000XR will give tough competition to Ducati Multistrada and is expected to be priced around Rs. 27 lac (ex-showroom).

BMW TVS G310R

Earlier, the German bike maker collaborated with TVS motors to bring sub 500 motorcycles to the Indian market. TVS/BMW G310 will be the first motorcycle of the partnership, which is also expected to arrive at the Auto Expo. The G310R houses a 313cc, single cylinder liquid cooled engine that is expected to produce 34bhp and 28Nm. The bike will be developed at the TVS’s Hosur facility. First motorcycle of the BMW/TVS joint venture is expected to go on sale by start of next fiscal year and will share the service network with TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
