The BMW CE 04 electric scooter has been launched as the fastest and most expensive electric scooter in India. The scooter looks like no other scooter currently available in the country. It stands out with a futuristic maxi-scooter design and has bulky bodywork. 

BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter: Price & Rivals

The BMW CE 04 is priced at Rs 14,90,000 (ex-showroom). It is available in two colour options: Imperial Blue Metallic and Light White. Deliveries of the scooter will start from September 2024.

The CE 04 does not have a direct competitor in the market. But for a similar price, you can get a Triumph Tiger 900, BMW F 850 GS Adventure or the Ducati Monster SP. From your perspective, it is just Rs 5,85,000 cheaper than the BMW S 1000 RR which costs Rs 20,75,000 (ex-showroom).

BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter: What Does It Get?

The BMW CE 04 is equipped with a permanent-magnet liquid-cooled synchronous motor that delivers a peak output of 31.31kW at 4900rpm and 61.96Nm at 1500rpm. It claims to accelerate from 0 to 50kmph in 2.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 120kmph, making it the fastest electric scooter in India.

The electric scooter has an 8.9kWh battery pack and provides a claimed range of 130km. The BMW CE 04 takes approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes to charge from 0 to 100 percent. Whereas, the optional quick charger reduces the charging time to 1 hour and 40 minutes for a full charge.

Featurewise, the BMW CE 04 features a 10.25-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity. The scooter gets 3 riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road), a reverse mode and traction control. It also has keyless operation, a USB type-C charging port and an emergency call function. Other optional features include a comfort seat, a quick charger, heated grips, a centre stand, an anti-theft alarm system, cornering traction control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a taller windscreen.

The CE 04 electric scooter sits on a steel double-loop frame and has a single-sided swing arm. It gets a telescopic fork with 110mm suspension travel and a monoshock with 92mm suspension travel. Braking duties are handled by 265mm dual-disc brakes at the front and a 265mm single-disc brake at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The bike rolls on 15-inch aluminium alloy wheels, wrapped with 120-section front and 160-section rear tyres. It has a 780mm seat height which increases to 800mm with an optional comfort seat, it has a 231kg kerb weight.
