Here’s everything you need to know about one of the most affordable electric scooters with swappable batteries in India

After it was spotted testing earlier this month, Bounce finally launched its Infinity E1 electric scooter in the Indian market. While it's one of the most affordable electric scooters with swappable battery system, and is also the first of its kind to be sold with or without a battery pack.  To know more, let's check out the top five highlights of the Bounce Infinity E1.

Carries the retro charm:

In India, while we already have the Bajaj Chetak which gets retro styling and curvy body panels. Bounce has also entered the league with its infinity E1 electric scooter which gets a curvaceous design complemented by a circular LED headlight that lends it a retro look. As the e-scooter is a derivation of the 22Kymco iFlow it carries identical styling and design elements. 

Buy it with or without a battery pack:

Yes, in a first, Bounce is offering the Infinity E1 e-scooter in two variants: with and without a battery pack. While the former is priced at Rs 68,999, the latter costs only Rs 45,099 (both ex-showroom Delhi). Customers opting for the without battery variant will have to buy the ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ subscription scheme at an additional cost that ranges from Rs 850 to Rs 1,250 depending on the plan and will also have to pay Rs 35 per swap at the Bounce upcoming battery swapping network. By the way, the Infinity E1 is powered by a 48V, 39Ah IP67-rated portable lithium-ion battery pack that offers a claimed range of 85km and requires 4-5 hours to charge fully. The electric scooter is further propelled by a BLDC hub motor that churns out 83Nm and lends it a top speed of 65kmph. 

Loaded with modern features

The Bounce Infinity E1 is offered with features such as cruise control, 12-litre under-seat storage with USB charging port, three riding modes (Eco, Power and Drag), apron-mounted and under-seat utility hooks, and a fully digital instrument cluster that displays ignition status, side stand status, battery SOC status, vehicle status, Bluetooth and speedometer and odometer reading. There's also a Drag mode and Reverse mode on offer. The former helps the rider to walk the e-scooter in case it comes to an halt while the latter as the name suggests assist's the rider while reversing.

Underpinnings:

The ride of the Infinity electric scooter is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs a 230mm disc at the front and a 203mm disc at the rear that is further assisted by a regenerative braking system. The Bounce Infinity E1 runs on 12-inch wheels that are wrapped in tyres having 90mm width at the front and 120mm width at the rear. 

Warranty and colour options:

The Bounce Infinity E1 is offered with a warranty of 40,000 km or 3 year-warranty, whichever is earlier. Meanwhile, the electric scooter is available in five colour options: Sparkle Black, Comet Grey, Sporty Red, Pearl White and Desat Silver. Customers also have the option to customise the E1, all they have to do is pick the base colour and they can layer it on with stickers, designs and motifs
