BREAKING: Is This New Honda Scooter Based On The Grazia 125?

The ‘likely to be’ sporty scooter has been teased once again

Honda has unveiled a new teaser for its upcoming two-wheeler, and this time around we get a glimpse of its instrument cluster. The console’s design bears a striking resemblance to the LCD unit found in the Honda Grazia 125, suggesting the possibility of a Grazia-based scooter. Speculations indicate that Honda may be aiming to introduce a sporty scooter to rival the popular TVS NTorq 125 in the market.

The instrument cluster features a tachometer (although its practicality on a scooter is debatable), a side stand indicator, a speedometer on the main housing, and additional indicators such as the engine check light, battery indicator, 3-step Eco indicator (which informs riders about their fuel-efficient or throttle-happy riding habits), start-stop indicator (likely equipped with a silent starter), and keyless indicator. The mention of the "Smart Ride Awaits" slogan in the teaser further confirms the inclusion of smart keyless features seen in the H-Smart variants of Honda's Activa 6G, Activa 125, and Dio models.

Considering the limited space available in the main display, it is unlikely that turn-by-turn navigation will be provided. The teaser also showcases a robust apron-mounted LED headlight with a sporty blue color scheme on the bodywork, accentuated by yellow highlights.

Honda is expected to launch this sporty 125cc scooter later this month or early next month. If it indeed turns out to be a sportier version of the Grazia, its price is estimated to be around Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). For comparison, the Grazia's top-end Disc variant is priced at Rs 89,845, while the base variant retails for Rs 82,520 (both ex-showroom prices in Delhi). Apart from competing against the TVS NTorq 125, the new Honda scooter will also face competition from other rivals such as the Yamaha RayZR 125, Suzuki Avenis, Aprilia SR125, and the upcoming Hero Xoom 125.
