Breaking: TVS Launches The New Jupiter Classic
Gets several changes but comes with a steep premium
TVS has launched the updated Jupiter Classic to celebrate it achieving the “fastest five million vehicles on road” milestone. This is a premium rendition of the popular TVS scooter, which now commands a substantial premium of Rs 5,550, for it is priced at Rs 85,866 (ex-showroom Delhi), and features a few bits that bring out the retro side of the Jupiter.
The new Jupiter Classic features black round mirrors replacing the chrome ones found on the outgoing variant, along with a fender garnish, tinted visor and black 3D premium logos. It also now gets diamond-cut alloy wheels, similar to the ones found on the TVS Jupiter 125.
To bring out its retro highlights, the Jupiter Classic sports more prominent stripes and decals across the apron and body, while also getting dark brown inner panels and a suede leatherette seat with a pillion backrest. The speedometer too dons a classic background, different from its other variants.
Apart from these changes, the TVS Jupiter Classic remains mechanically the same as the ZX Disc variant. It is powered by a 109.7cc engine producing 7.8PS and 8.8Nm. It continues to feature a front disc, something its main rival, the Honda Activa, does not offer, along with an engine kill switch, all-in-one-lock and USB charger.
