BS6-compliant Yamaha Fascino Spied Testing For The First Time

Modified On Oct 14, 2019 11:38 AM By Alpesh Rajpurohit for Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid

The upcoming Fascino could be the first BS6-compliant two-wheeler from Yamaha

The BS6-compliant Fascino will get a cosmetic update. Its 113cc engine could be fuel injected to meet the BS6 norms. Expect it to command a premium of around Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 over the standard model.

The Yamaha Fascino has been around for quite some time now but apart from getting minor cosmetic tweaks, the retro-styled scooter has not received any major update. Now, as test mules of the BS6-compliant Fascino have been spotted for the first time, we know it is finally on the verge of getting an overhaul.

Even though the test mules were heavily camouflaged, we spotted a few changes. For starters, the seat seems to be a bit longer and flatter than before and the grab handle is different compared to the current-gen model. The side panels on the scooter are also tweaked and are now smooth rather than concave. We also expect the upcoming scooter to get a new set of LED headlamps and a revised instrument cluster.

Powering the updated Fascino will be a 113cc engine, but it is likely to get a fuel injection to meet the upcoming emission norms. As of now, there’s no confirmation on the power outputs, but we expect the BS6-compliant engine to have slightly different power figures compared to the previous-gen model. In its current state of tune, this motor churns out 7.2PS of power and 8.1Nm of torque. Expect the 2020 Fascino to carry forward the same cycle parts as the current model.

By the looks of it, it seems like Yamaha has just begun the testing process, so expect the manufacturer to launch the BS6-compliant Fascino by early 2020. When launched, it will be the first BS6-compliant two-wheeler from Yamaha.

There’s no word on the price yet, but it is expected to get a price increment of around Rs 6,000 - Rs 7,000 over the current model, which retails at Rs 56,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It goes up against the Honda Activa 5G, Honda Dio and TVS Jupiter.
