CFMoto has been in the news for quite some time now and for all the good reasons, mind you. We have already seen the 250NK, the 650NK and the 650MT being tested on Indian streets, but the information about these bikes and CFMoto’s plans in India were scarce till now. Now, though, we have learned that CFMoto has joined hands with AMW Motorcycles. The Bengaluru-based company will be responsible for setting up the groundwork for CFMoto’s expansion in India.
Speaking to us, AMW Motorcycles has confirmed that they will bring CFMoto’s entire international motorcycle lineup to India except for the 150NK. The company has confirmed that it will launch its first product by mid-2019, but the spokesperson refused to comment which model will be launched first. However, we have already seen three motorcycles being tested on Indian roads, so we can expect the company to launch either the 250NK, the 650NK or the 650MT. The models which are coming to India will be BSIV-compliant, but AMW Motorcycles has confirmed that it will bring BSVI-compliant models by March next year.
Not only motorcycles, AMW Motorcycles will also bring other CFMoto products such as ATVs and side-by-side vehicles to India. And all these products will be sold under one roof. So, if you want to buy an adventure motorcycle along with an ATV, these dealerships may be the right place for you. The spokesperson hasn’t confirmed with us the pricing structure of CFMoto’s product lineup, but AMW Motorcycles has decided to bring these motorcycles in India via the CKD route. Keeping in mind how price-sensitive the Indian market is, we have been told that pricing will be quite competitive.
Right now, AMW Motorcycles is focusing on the expansion of its dealerships and the after-sales network. As of now, only two dealerships have been confirmed (one in Hyderabad and the other in Bengaluru). With the launch of the motorcycles, the company will also unveil a smartphone app that will help customers locate their nearest dealerships and service centres.
