DSK-Benelli at the Auto Expo: Unveiled Four Models

Established in 1911, Benelli is amongst the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. In March 2015, the Italian automaker entered the Indian automobile market in a partnership with DSK Motowheels. Since its beginning in the country, Benelli has been doing well. Presently, the company offers 6 motorcycles in India including - TNT 600i, TNT 600GT, TNT 899, TNT-R, TNT 300 and brought its smallest displacement and only single cylinder motorcycle, the TNT 25 in December 2015. Now, the Italian bike maker is looking to further expand its reach in the market and bringing 5 amazing products at the Auto Expo. Take a look at what all is coming from Benelli’s side.

Benelli Tornado 302

First unveiled at EICMA 2015, Benelli Tornado 302 has been unveiled during the 13th edition of Auto Expo. This happens to be the company's first fully faired motorcycle since Tornado 1130, which came out in 2003. The Tornado 302 will land in the middle of hot 300-odd cc motorcycle segment and will compete against the Yamaha YZF-R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

Benelli Tornado 302 is powered by the same 300cc parallel twin engine with DOHC of the TNT 300. Its liquid-cooled powertrain is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox that helps it to attain a top mark of 170kmph. The smooth engine is capable enough to generate 34.9bhp at 12,000rpm along with the peak torque of 27Nm at 9,000rpm.  

Benelli Tornado 135

There were expectations that the TNT15 would be showcased, but DSK-Benelli have gone a step further with this small-capacity model. Tornado 135 is a naked mini-bike with a catchy appearance and has been showcased in white colour. The bike will be available for sale in the country later this year and is expected to be priced at somewhere around Rs. 1.30 to 1.45 lac (ex-showroom). 

The bike is powered by a 135cc Single cylinder, 4 strokes, air cooled, 4 valves, double spark engine that is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and delivers a 12.42bhp of maximum power at 9000 rpm and  a peak torque of 10.8Nm at 7000 rpm. Besides this, the bike also features Fuel Injection, Digital ignition, Wet Sump Lubrication. 

Benelli Trek 502

This year, the Chinese-owned Italian motorcycle maker, Benelli adding some adventure to its motorcycle fleet. The company is expected bring second adventure tourer in its Indian fleet by the second half of this year. To named as, TRK 502, this is going to be much practical as compared to the other adventure tourer from Benelli. To make this motorcycle, the company has taken inspiration from some of the best adventure touring machines.

The bike houses 499.6cc parallel twin, liquid cooled engine that is capable enough to pump out 46.9bhp of power along with the maximum torque of 45Nm. The engine of the motorcycle is mated to a 6-speed transmission via a hydraulic clutch offering effortless shifting. 

BX 250 Motard

This time, the Italian manufacturer Benelli has showcased its 249cc off-road adventure  motorcycle, the BX 250. The bike gets its power from 249cc engine that generates 25bhp at 9000rpm and 21Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike is built around Steel Tubes with triangular structure having Exhaust System with Catalytic converter. .
