DSK Motowheels is preparing to launch the Hyosung GD250N and GD250R. The Hyosung GD250N was showcased at last Indian Auto Expo held in February 2014. However, we did not get any confirmation on the launch date during this huge time period of more than one year. But finally, the COO of DSK Motowheels, Mr Shivapada Ray has now confirmed that both the quarter-litre machines are coming to India this year.

Hyosung GD250N

Recently, DSK Motowheels introduced another superbike brand, Benelli, in India, which is a legendary Italian bike manufacturer. During an interview session with Autocar Professional about this new tie-up, Mr. Ray told them about the upcoming Benelli and Hyosung motorcycles in India. He said, The TNT 25 is a single-cylinder motorcycle which will be a major selling bike in India and the Benelli TreK Amazonas 1130 and another product that we have not yet decided. So, three products will be coming this calendar year. In the Hyosung brand, we are bringing the GD 250 N and R, single-cylinder naked GD250N and the full-faired bike, GD250R. We are seeing the 200-300cc motorcycle segments growing at a very fast pace, and the most important factor is affordability of the bike. That is the biggest challenge at hand to make these superbikes as affordable as possible and every manufacturer is trying that."

Hyosung GD250R

Where the Hyosung GD250N is a naked sport motorcycle, the GD250R is its full faired version, like the KTM Duke and RC twins respectively. Entering the largest two-wheeler market, they will challenge the offerings in one of the fastest growing segment- the entry-level performance motorcycles. Both the GD250N and GD250R are based on similar platform and uses the same 250cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, with unchanged specs.

There are limited differences in both the faired and naked motorcycles like a full body fairing, headlights, handlebars and rake angle. Apart from them, both have similar body work, alloy wheels, tyres, petal disc brakes, split-seat, inverted front forks, rear monoshock and much more. The company can introduce these machines at highly competitive prices against their rivals.
