Electric Two-wheelers Showcased at 2016 Auto Expo

This edition of Auto Expo brought us many amazing surprises for both two-wheeler and four-wheeler industry. The event witnessed the futuristic concepts being displayed by various manufacturers. A lot has been said about the rising petrol prices and the traffic problem in major cities, but didn’t find much success. So, many manufacturers are trying to come up with technologies in electric vehicles industry. Here, we have listed the electric two-wheelers that are showcased during the show.
Lohia Elit 3000
Delhi-based Lohia Auto unveiled its first high-speed electric scooter, the Elit 3000 in the presence of Indian Cricketer Piyush Chawla. The latest scooter from Lohia is capable enough to reach a top mark of 60kmph, which is quite good as compared to its previous scooter that can reach a maximum speed of 25kmph. Other important features of this highly advanced vehicle include 3-speed modes, disc brake, and a peak output of 3000W. Read More
Lohia Oma Star Li
Lohia Auto has been struggling for its image in the Indian two-wheeler market. Earlier the company entered the partnership with US automaker UM Motorcycles with 50-50 share and formed a new company called UML. Now, the company has unveiled the India’s first Lithium Ion Battery Operated Scooter called, Oma Star Li at the Auto Expo. The scooter comes with ergonomic seats and alloy wheels for improved riding experience and more stability. It has been given a telescopic suspension, refreshed headlamp and will be available in four attractive colours including Fiery Red, Macho Black, Spirited Gray & White. Read More
Revolta UFO
UFO stands for Urban Fun Object - an urban electric scooter developed and showcased by Revolta during the Auto Expo 2016. The company is planning to bring it on Indian roads by 2017. This eco-friendly scooter is equipped with a 3kw high torque rear hub motor that gets its power from a Lithium-ion battery pack with Integrated Digital battery management system. Once charged, the UFO can cover a decent range of 80kms and can achieve a top mark of 70kmph. Read More
Mahindra GenZe 2.0
Seeing the demand of electric two-wheelers in India, majority of manufacturers started trying their hands in this market. Mahindra two-wheelers have unveiled its first electric scooter named as GenZe 2.0. The name GenZe stands for ‘Generation Zero Emissions’ and it comes with an easily detachable battery. This unique offering is designed in California and built in Michigan using an aluminium exo-skeleton chassis that runs along either side of the vehicle and also serves as a styling element. The instrument of GenZe comprises of a 7-inch touch screen display that shows speed, range, remaining battery and other important information. Read More
Piaggio WI-BIKE
The 2016 Auto Expo has also seen the unveiling of eco-friendly two-wheeler from Piaggio. Named as WI-BIKE, it is powered by 418 W (36v - 11,6Ah) Lithium-ion battery. Its motor generates a peak power of 250W along with the maximum torque of 50Nm and can attain a top mark of 25kmph. The lithium-ion battery takes around 3-4 hours to get charged completely. This electric bike offers assistance level that includes Eco, Tour, Power + OFF and Walk. Read More
