EXCLUSIVE: Ola Electric Scooters Spotted Testing With MoveOS 3.0, Sounds Like A UFO

Modified On Oct 19, 2022 01:15 PM By Nishaad for Ola S1

The update for the electric scooter will roll out this Diwali

Nearly a week after the launch of the MoveOS 3.0 update was confirmed for this Diwali, we spotted multiple Ola S1 scooters, trying out the update.

While the noise isn’t very clear, given the surroundings, the synthesized sound on the scooters sounds almost UFO-like. This is similar to the Revolt RV400 which comes with four ‘exhaust notes’, all of which are different and sound more conventional.  We expect more such futuristic ‘engine sounds’ in the final version too.

In this update, the electric scooter will also get features like hill-hold, proximity unlock, ride moods, regenerative braking V2, hypercharging, calling and key sharing. Ola could even throw in voice assistance for the S1 Pro. Something we would like to see is Ola improve the scooter’s throttle response to reduce the power lag. It’ll also be interesting to see how many of these features make their way to the new, more affordable variant, which is likely to be priced on par with the Honda Activa 6G.

Currently the S1 retails at Rs 99,999, while the S1 Pro costs Rs 1,39,999 (both prices effective ex-showroom). There’s also a flat discount of Rs 10,000 on the S1 Pro for the current festive season. The Ola S1 competes with the TVS iQube Electric, Bajaj Chetak, Vida V1 and the Ather 450 Plus.
