EXCLUSIVE: THIS Is The Name Of The Upcoming Activa 6G Variant
The variant will be as safe as houses
(Update: Honda has launched the H-Smart variant of the Activa 6G. Here’s what this new scooter packs.)
2023 seems to have started on a promising start already for Honda. While it sent us a cryptic invite earlier this month, we managed to find out what it was all about. And now, we got our hands on a homologation document revealing details about the possibility of the tech to be offered in an upcoming Honda Activa 6G variant.
Interestingly, the document says that the new variant has a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 279kg, against the 280kg GVW of the standard Activa 6G. For the uninitiated, GVW is the maximum operating mass of a vehicle, which includes the kerb weight and the permissible load capacity. That said, we’re not too sure how Honda has managed that.

The new anti-theft feature could be a scaled-down version of the Honda Ignition Security System, a system that’s present on its more premium two-wheelers like the CBR650R, CB650R and the Africa Twin.
If it is that, it’d actually be a useful piece of tech to protect your Honda from potential theft. Along with the Activa 6G, this added functionality could hence also make its way to other Honda scooters like the Activa 125 and Grazia, perhaps in the future. We will know exactly what Honda is cooking on January 23. Until then, stay tuned to BikeDekho.
