No, we are not playing a prank with you, it's true that the American brand known for it's famous potato-potato sound, Harley Davidson is about to bring an all new electric superbike christened as Livewire. There is not any official announcement of the bike from the company, however, some leaked images of the bike confirms that the bike is near to its production and might be launched soon.
No official details have been emerged about the bike but it's said to be powered by a 55kW, 3-phase electric motor, which will be generating a maximum power of 74bhp. A belt drive transfers the power from the motor to the rear wheel smoothly. Range of the bike is expected to be around 100kms with a 0-100 sprint time of just around 4 seconds.
In terms of designing, the Harley Davidson Livewire looks much different from conventional H-D motorcycle. The bike comes in the segment of sport cruisers like Ducati Diavel and Yamaha V-Max. However, its styling looks quite similar to the Harley's sporty V-Rod models.
The bike gets a uniquely styled LED headlamp at the front and a masculine fuel tank, which gives an aggressive look to it. The H-D Livewire model in the pictures showing that it will come with a single seating option having a conical seat cowl with small LED tail lamp. Body panels covering the motor of the bike gets a dual tone theme to further enhance the sportiness in it. You can also see a fully digital LDC screen on the bike, which replaces the conventional analog pods, while the handlebar on the bike giving the feel of a naked sport bike.
Livewire will get big inverted forks at the front and advance single shock suspension with aluminium swing-arm. Sporty 10-spoke alloys will be covered by high traction tyres, quite possible from Pirelli. Both the front and rear wheels will get a disc braking system and the company might also introduce optional ABS assistance with it.
