Gogoro 2 Series Detailed Through 7 Images

Modified On Nov 3, 2022 06:02 PM By Nishaad for Gogoro 2 Series

Looks funky, packs a lot of tech and an Ola S1 Pro-rivalling claimed range

Gogoro recently announced its partnership with Zypp Electric. Among the multiple electric scooters on display was the Gogoro 2 Series, a scooter that gets interesting the more you dive into it. Have a look at it through a set of detailed images:

Motor

The Gogoro 2 Series is powered by a liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor producing peak power of 7kW, putting its peak output above the Ather 450X. The motor also generates a maximum torque of 196Nm at the rear wheel. That said, its performance will be equivalent to that of a 110cc petrol-powered scooter.

Battery

A consistent cruising speed of 30kmph will see the 2 Series give a solid claimed range of about 170km, putting it very close to the likes of the Ola S1 Pro. That combined with Gogoro’s impressive-sounding battery swapping technology (new batteries come out in an impressive six seconds) should add to the scooter’s practicality. That said, the battery itself weighs 10kg, propelling the scooter’s weight to 122kg.

Features

This is where modern-day e-scooters really shine and the 2 Series has a few party tricks too. There’s obviously LED lighting all around and a negative LCD dash stares at you when you get onto the scooter. The 2 Series gets keyless entry, and can even be unlocked using a smartcard. There are four riding modes on offer as well- Smart, Normal, Super Boost and Low Energy.

Other bits like USB charging, reverse mode, anti-theft alert and a 25-litre underseat storage make this e-scooter a funky-looking yet practical one.

Underpinnings

The 2 Series is suspended on a telescopic fork along with dual preload-adjustable shocks. Braking is handled by a 220mm disc up front and a 180mm unit at the rear along with CBS (Combined Braking System). The 12-inch wheels are shod with Maxxis tyres; a 100-section at the front and 110-section one at the rear.

Gogoro and Zypp Electric will use these electric scooters for a pilot programme in Gurugram, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Bengaluru for B2B (Business-to-business) services. Its learnings will then be applied to its upcoming electric scooters for the common man, which could include the Gogoro Supersport. Gogoro could even make its powertrain and battery-swapping technology available for other e-mobility brands like Hero Vida and Ather Energy
