Gogoro To Begin Its Electric Journey In India Tomorrow
The focus will likely be over the brand’s debut rather than a product unveil
Just a day from now, Taiwanese EV giant Gogoro will enter the Indian EV space. Rather than a product launch, tomorrow’s event will likely be centered around the brand’s debut in our country.
Overseas, Gogoro is famed for its battery-swapping technology and swap stations, which the EV marque is set to bring to India. Interestingly, Gogoro has partnered with Hero MotoCorp, and will be collaborating with the Indian bikemaker for installing the swap stations across the country, as well as to develop new products.
Apart from that, Gogoro will also launch its own EV offerings here. However, they will be devoid of any ties with Hero and the Taiwan-based brand will function independently. That said, expect the battery-swapping network to be a shared initiative.

Considering what it has to offer – a 7.2kW hub motor producing 27Nm and a claimed 150km of range – it seems like an apt product for the Indian market.
For the B2B segment, Gogoro could also bring the Viva e-scooter, which honestly looks funky and something we would love to see on our roads. This one features a 3kW motor producing 85Nm at the wheel and has a claimed range of 85km.
Oh! and Gogoro had also trademarked the ‘Viva’ name back in 2019 in the country. Expect more details about the EV manufacturer’s specific plans for India to be revealed tomorrow.
