2022 has witnessed some feature-packed and even performance-oriented scooters
In India, people opt for scooters for their easy-to-ride nature, fuel efficiency and practicality. But the Indian market has evolved much more than offering just point A to B commutes, as several feature-rich as well as performance-oriented scooters have been launched in the country. Here’s a roundup of all the interesting scooters that arrived in India in 2022.
100-125cc scooters:
Honda Scooters
Honda first launched a new ‘Sports’ edition of India’s ‘OG’ sporty scooter, the Dio in India this year. It got new paint schemes and a few other aesthetic updates. Next was India’s favourite scooter, the Activa 6G, which received a new variant this year. It looks premium and costs a nominal premium over the DLX variant.
TVS Scooters
TVS gave us a new variant of the popular 110cc scooter, the TVS Jupiter. Called the Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect, it is the first scooter in the 110cc segment to boast of a fully digital instrument cluster with navigation AND voice assist! In order to celebrate ‘five million vehicles on the road’, TVS launched the updated Jupiter Classic too. Here’s your look at this elegant-looking scooter.
125cc & above scooters:
TVS Scooters
The TVS NTorq 125 is one the sportiest and most feature-packed scooters in its segment. Raising the stakes even higher, the Hosur-based manufacturer first launched the NTorq XT, with quite a few segment-first features. Next on the list was the NTorq 125 Race Edition, which comes draped in a swanky Marine Blue colour scheme.
Suzuki Burgman Street EX
Suzuki updated its attractive-looking Burgman Street EX. While it only got a basic set of updates, the price hike was massive.
Yamaha Scooters
Yamaha launched the MotoGP editions of two of its scooters, the Aerox 155 and the RayZR 125 Disc. They all look sporty and come with minimal price hikes.
Keeway Scooters
Keeway, a Chinese-owned bikemaker founded in Hungary entered the Indian market earlier this year, with a cruiser and two scooters. The Vieste 300 and the Sixties 300i are two attractive scooters with performance-packed engines.
Electric scooters:
iQube S
The TVS iQube Electric underwent a massive overhaul with better range, performance as well as features earlier this year. The scooter is now available in three variants; the standard, S and ST.
Ather 450X & 450 Plus Third Generation
Even Ather Energy launched the updated iteration of its electric scooter, the 450X Gen 3 and 450 Plus Gen 3 in India. Both of them pack a higher range among other upgrades.
Ola S1 & S1 Air
Ola Electric gave us two new, more affordable variants of its flagship scooter, the S1 Pro. First was the S1, which was launched on 15th August this year. And then more recently was the launch of the S1 Air electric scooter. It came loaded with features at a 110cc scooter-rivalling price.
Vida V1
Hero VIda finally gave us its highly-anticipated Vida V1 electric scooter. It got an impressive range, an interesting set of features, as well as a removable battery pack.
Jaunty Plus

Revamp Moto launched the Buddie 25, a funky-looking e-scooter that looks like the eco-friendly perfect rival to the TVS XL 100.
Okinawa Okhi 90
Okinawa introduced its flagship scooter, the Okhi 90 in India earlier this year. The scooter packs a mouth-watering range along with many other practical bits.
