Hero Destini 125 Platinum Edition Launched

Modified On Mar 24, 2021 04:55 PM By Punya Sharma for Hero Destini 125

The special edition costs Rs 1,600 more than the disc brake variant

Hero Motocorp seems to be on a roll. Just a few days after launching the 100 Million Edition of the Destini 125, it has now launched the Destini 125 Platinum Edition. The special edition costs Rs 72,050 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 1,600 more than the standard alloy wheel variant of the scooter.

The Platinum Edition gets a matte black colour with chrome mirrors, bar-ends, and a chrome exhaust shield. For added appeal, the manufacturer has also thrown in brown inner panels, a brown coloured seat, and a 3D Platinum badge along with white rim tapes on the alloys. Additionally, you also get signature LED guide lamps.

Sadly, no other changes have been made to justify the price. The scooter is still powered by the same 124.6cc motor churning out 9.1PS and 10.4Nm. It features a semi-digital instrument cluster, Hero’s patented i3S tech, USB port, boot light, and integrated braking.

The Rs 1,600 premium isn’t really justified as the scooter still misses out on key elements such as an LED headlamp and tail lamp, which its rivals such as the Suzuki Access 125 and the Honda Activa 125 offer. Had Hero added these bits at this premium, the Platinum Edition would’ve really shined in the market.
