Here’s what the latest 250cc bike brings to the segment

The Hero Xtreme 250R is the newest entry into the 250cc streetfighter and naked sport bike segment. It was launched at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Lets see how it compares to the Suzuki Gixxer 250.

Pricing

The Hero Xtreme 250R has been launched at a starting price of Rs 1,79,900 (ex-showroom), which is more affordable than the Suzuki Gixxer 250, which is priced at Rs 1,98,000 (ex-showroom).

Design

The Xtreme 250R takes a more aggressive and sporty approach to design. It features sharp tank extensions, an angular LED headlight, a split-seat design, and a high rear tail section. The gold-coloured inverted fork further adds a premium look to the bike. It is available in three colour options: Neon Shooting Star, Stealth Black, and Firestorm Red.

On the other hand, the Gixxer 250 has a more clean look with clean lines. It features a sleek fuel tank, and a minimalistic tail section. The bike gets three colours: Metallic Mat Black No. 2, Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red, and Metallic Triton Blue/Pearl Glacier White.

Performance

The Xtreme 250R is powered by a 250cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 30PS, 25Nm, and mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

The Gixxer 250 shares its engine with the Gixxer SF 250. The 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine produces 26.5PS, 22.2Nm, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox here as well.

Underpinnings

The Xtreme uses an inverted fork, while the Gixxer 250 uses a 41mm telescopic fork. Both bikes get a preload-adjustable monoshock, dual-channel ABS, 17-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends.

Features

Both bikes have an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and a USB Type-C charging port. But the Gixxer misses out on features like riding modes, switchable ABS, and traction control.

BikeDekho Says

The Hero Xtreme 250R is the more value for money bike here with better performance, sportier and aggressive styling, with more features including riding modes, traction control, and switchable ABS; all of this being offered with a Rs 18,000 less expensive price tag.
