Honda Activa Electric Launch Likely In 2025
The brand is also working on setting up dedicated production lines for the upcoming Honda Activa electric
Honda India has expanded their production capacity with the addition of two new production lines in Karnataka and Gujarat to meet the increasing demands for conventional petrol powered two-wheelers according to recent online reports. The Japanese bike maker is also set to start manufacturing the upcoming Honda Activa Electric in the Karnataka plant by December 2024.
The Honda Activa electric, code-named K4BA, is an upcoming electric scooter and will be the brand’s foray into the electric scooter market. It will be offered in two variants, one with a fixed battery and another with swappable ones.
Earlier Honda had announced a tie up with Hindustan Petroleum Limited to set up swap stations across their petrol pumps all over India, which should help with the range anxiety that comes with owning an electric vehicle.
As far as underpinnings are concerned, according to recent patent filings, Honda is planning on using a swingarm-mounted motor setup which will be similar to what we have seen on the Hero Vida V1. This will make it easier to remove the rear wheel for repairs.
