Honda PCX, PCX 160 And X-ADV Updated For Japan

Modified On Jun 13, 2022 12:10 PM By Nishaad for Honda PCX160

Unfortunately, there are no substantial changes to be seen

Honda has rolled out the necessary set of emission updates for the X-ADV in its domestic market. These changes had been introduced in Europe a while back, though. Along with the X-ADV, the company has also given the PCX and PCX 160 some changes. Here’s a low-down on what the scooters get:

PCX and PCX 160

The Honda PCX and PCX 160 now come with new paint schemes. Both scooters get Matt Galaxy Black Metallic and Foggy Blue Metallic shades. Everything else remains the same.

The PCX gets a 124cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 12.5PS and 12Nm, which, interestingly, makes it subtly more powerful (by 1.12PS) and torquier (0.8Nm) than the TVS Raider and only 2PS down when compared with the KTM 125 Duke.

The PCX 160, on the other hand, gets a 156cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 15.8PS and 15Nm. When pitted against the Yamaha Aerox 155, the PCX 160 has 0.8PS and 1.1Nm more.

Honda’s scooters are suspended on a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. Other underpinnings include disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS and a 14-/13-inch wheel setup. A large 8.1-litre fuel tank should ensure a decent range.

Similar to the aforementioned scooters, the X-ADV too, gets two new colours namely, Grand Prix Red and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, along with the Pearl Deep Mud Gray that was already available. The bright Grand Prix Red would give the scooter a lot more road presence, while the Matte Black is on the stealthy side.

Other than that, at the heart of the scooter is still the 745cc, parallel twin engine which it shares with the NC750X and Forza 750. It makes 58PS and 69Nm. That said, a kerb weight of 236kg makes it quite a heavy scooter.

The PCX and PCX 160 will be available in their updated colours from June 26, 2022, and are priced at 357,500 Yen (approximately Rs 2.07 lakh) and 407,000 Yen (approximately Rs 2.36 lakh), respectively. The X-ADV on the other hand, will be launched on July 28 in Japan and carries a price tag of 13,20,000 Yen (approximately Rs 7.66 lakh).
