Indian Motorcycles Launches 2018 Chieftain Elite In India

The American luxury two-wheeler manufacturer has launched its 2018 Chieftain Elite at a whopping Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom)

Indian Motorcycles, the Polaris-owned luxury bike manufacturer, has launched its top-of-the-line bagger in India, the 2018 Chieftain Elite. With only 350 units available worldwide, this one-of-a-kind bagger gets a detailed custom paintjob which takes a total of 25 man-hours to complete and premium features that’s sure to make your jaw drop. The ultra-luxury bagger is available in India only on a pre-order basis.

Every small detail on the bike has been well thought through, from the lines and textures to the materials used. But the main talking point about the bike is its stunning paintjob, something called Black Hills High-flake Silver. It is inspired from the Black Hills of South Dakota, which also happens to be where the Indian Motorcycles paint facility is located. Each Chieftain Elite is unique to itself due to the level of human involvement.

On the feature front, the bagger gets a seven-inch touchscreen with Indian’s Ride Command System, USB /Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, vehicle information and status. Furthermore, riders can also use the split screen technology to customize the bike’s display and make it show only the essential information. It doesn’t end there: The ultra-premium bagger also gets a premium 200-watt audio system, adjustable passenger floorboards, ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition, flare-powered windscreen and remote-locking handlebars, among others.

Powering the 2018 Chieftain Elite is Indian’s 1811cc, V-twin, Thunder Stroke engine that produces a peak torque of 151Nm at 3000rpm.
