Priced at Rs 31.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram), the new Indian Springfield will be available in Thunder Black colour in India.
The iconic American motorcycle manufacturer, Indian Motorcycles, today unveiled the new Springfield in India. The company had already started bookings for the bike with a soft launch in the country in April 2016, and now, it will be available in the market in Thunder Black colour option. Named after the birthplace of Indian Motorcycles, the Springfield is a soulful and versatile machine that has been designed to provide a pure riding experience and it comes to the country with a sticker price tag of Rs 31.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram).
The new Indian Springfield is based on the trusted platform of the iconic Indian Chief. However, there are some changes in the geometry, with 25-degree rake and reduced 133mm trail, resulting in better handling. Apart from the batwing fairing and the infotainment system, the Springfield shares most of the features with the Chieftain, the top end model in the Chief range. So, the standard features of the bike include ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition, quick-release windshield, adjustable floorboards, tyre-pressure monitoring, and much more. Besides these common features, the Springfield also gets detachable hard saddlebags, so you can easily convert this bagger style motorcycle into a cruiser when you want.
Like all the Indian Chief motorcycles, the Indian Springfield also gets a massive torque of 161.6Nm at just 3,000rpm from the Thunder Stroke 111 V-twin. The massive 1,811cc, air-cooled motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and its exhaust note can be accepted as a reason for its name. Apart from the standard features of the bike, the company also offers some optional accessories and equipment with the Springfield, such as Ape Hanger handlebar kit, performance kit and premium concert saddlebag audio kit, which you can use to enhance your ride experience on this ultimate motorcycle.
