American motorcycle maker Indian Motorcycle was expected to showcase its highly awaited Scout Sixty at the Auto Expo. However, as per the one of the online portal, the Indian Scout Sixty will not mark its presence at the show. This means the Indian bike enthusiasts have to wait for some more time to get their hands on it. A perfect combo of retro styling with modern designing, the Scout Sixty uses the same chassis of its elder sibling, the Scout.
First unveiled at the EICMA 2015, the Indian Scout Sixty is expected to take over the affordable segment of premium cruiser market. The bike will continue to carry the design legacy of the Scout and will retain its chassis, suspension setup and brakes. It could make its Indian debut during mid 2016.
The Indian Scout Sixty is powered by a new 998cc V-Twin, liquid-cooled engine, which is tuned to produce 78bhp of power along 88.8Nm of maximum torque. The bike runs on 130/90 section tyre up front and 150/80 section tyre at the rear, both the wheels houses 298mm disc brakes. Its smooth powerplant is coupled to a 5-speed constant-mesh gearbox that transmits power to the rear wheel through a belt drive. With the launch of Scout Sixty, the American motorcycle maker is eyeing the premium cruiser market. The bike will give healthy competition to the premium cruisers of Harley Davidson, DSK-Hyosung and Triumph Motorcycles.
Presently, there are large numbers of motorcycles available in the segment, we need to wait to see how Indian Motorcycles performs with Scout Sixty. The bike is expected to come with the price tag of Rs. 8.5 lac.
