The recently launched Jawa 42 FJ is the latest addition to the Jawa 42 line-up. The neo-retro roadster joins the 42 range along with the existing Jawa 42 and the 42 Bobber. If you are confused on which one to buy, here’s a detailed analysis on which one will be the BEST for you:

Jawa 42 FJ - The Sportier Neo-Retro Kid

The Jawa 42 FJ is the latest bike from the brand. It comes with a neo-retro roadster design with sporty looks, slimmer fuel tank and has upswept and long dual exhausts. The 42 FJ’s prices start at Rs 1,99,142 and go up to Rs 2,20,142 (ex-showroom). It is available in five shades: Aurora Green Matte Spoke, Cosmo Blue Matte, Mystique Copper, Deep Black Matte Red Clad and Deep Black Matte Black Clad.

The new Jawa 42 FJ shares its 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Alpha2 engine from the Jawa 350 and the Yezdi Adventure. It produces peak output of 29.2PS and 29.6Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and has a slip-and-assist clutch too. 

In terms of features, the Jawa 42 FJ has a round full LCD instrument cluster, which it borrows from the higher variants of the standard Jawa 42. The console displays speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, trip metres, clock, and other basic readouts. The bike also has a USB charging port.

The Jawa 42 FJ is equipped with a telescopic fork and 5-step preload-adjustable twin shocks. It rolls on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke/alloy wheels, which come with 100-section front and 140-section rear tyres. To bring the bike to a stop, the 42 FJ has a 320mm front disc along with a 240mm rear disc brake, with dual channel ABS as standard. It comes with a 790mm seat height, weighs 184kg and has a 12-litre fuel tank.

If you like sporty and eye-catching neo-retro roadsters with a powerful engine, then the Jawa 42 FJ might be the one for you. While it is quite a bit more expensive than the standard 42, it is a good option, especially given its unique looks.

The Jawa 42 features a retro roadster design and gives off an old-school vibe. It gets a round halogen headlight and a rounded fuel tank. It gets flat and long, dual exhausts. Prices for the bike start at Rs 1,72,942 and go up to Rs 1,98,142 (ex-showroom).

The 42 is available in 13 single and dual-tone colour options: Vega White, Voyager Red, Asteroid Grey, Odyssey Black, Sirius White Matte, Nebula Blue, Celestial Copper Matte, Orion Red Matte, All Star Black Matte, Infinity Black Matte, Cosmic Carbon, Starship Blue, Cosmic Rock and Celestial Copper Matte DT. 

The Jawa 42 is powered by a 294cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, J-Panther engine making 27.32PS and 26.84Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. It delivers less power output than the other two bikes. Featurewise, the base and mid variants of the 42 gets a semi-digital instrument console with a digital inset. Whereas, the higher variants are equipped with a full LCD instrument cluster.

Jawa 42 - The Retro One

The bike is suspended on a telescopic fork and gas-charged preload-adjustable twin rear shocks. Braking is managed by a smaller 280mm front disc and 240mm rear disc brake, with dual channel ABS as standard. The bike comes fitted with the same 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, wrapped with 90-section front and 120-section rear tyres. With a seat height of 788mm, it weighs between 182 to 184kg and has a bigger 13.2-litre fuel tank when compared to the 42 FJ.

If you are someone who wants a budget-friendly, calm retro-roadster with old school vibes, the standard Jawa 42 is a better choice.

Jawa 42 Bobber - To Enjoy the Single Life

The Jawa 42 Bobber, as the name suggests, is a bobber-style bike that comes with only a single-seat for the rider and no pillion seat. It does reduce the practicality as compared to the 42 and 42 FJ, but it makes 42 Bobber look gorgeous. The bike comes in 5 different single and dual-tone shades including Moonstone White, Mystic Copper, Jasper Red Dual Tone, Black Mirror and Red Sheen. Prices for the Bobber start at Rs 2,09,500 and go up to Rs 2,29,500 (ex-showroom).

Jawa 42 Bobber - To Enjoy the Single Life

The 42 Bobber gets a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine from the old Yezdi Adventure that makes 29.9PS and 30Nm, mated to a six-speed transmission. The Jawa 42 Bobber also gets the same circular LCD console as the 42 FJ. The 334cc bobber comes equipped with an all-LED lighting setup and also gets a USB charging point.

The Bobber comes with a telescopic fork and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock. It gets the same brakes as the Jawa 42 and gets the same wheels and tyre setup as the 42 FJ. At 740mm, it gets a lower seat height among the 3 bikes, and at 185kg, weighs 1kg more than the 42 FJ. The Bobber has a 12.5-litre fuel tank, which is slightly bigger than the 42 FJ but smaller than the 42.
