Till now, we only had information that the Mahindra two wheeler is ready to launch their Italian Mojo 300 in India very soon. But now we have the proof of the news as Mahindra Mojo 300 has been spotted on the old highway of Mumbai to Pune, recently. The bike was covered in black, but it was not difficult to identify the bike as it was unveiled in September 2010. The bike unveiled in 2010 was totally designed in Italy, and it was ready to launch. But the bike has not been launched yet. The reason behind that could be due to modification it has been going through at the company's R&D centre in Pune to reduce the cost of the bike.
This is the same R&D centre where the Pantero and the Centuro were developed, and launched at a very affordable price along with the features which were never used before in their respective segment. We are not sure about the design of the upcoming Mahindra Mojo 300, as that could be changed. However, it is sure that the bike will be launched with a 300cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled engine.
The bike might be changed cosmetically to reduce the cost, if so, the changes would be minor. Growing competition might be another reason of the delay in launching it, for which they need a more advanced design of the bike to compete with its existing rivals, which are- Honda CBR250R and KTM Duke 390.
These bikes are amazing and doing well in their segment, so with the design unveiled earlier at the 2010 Auto Expo, it'll be tough for Mojo 300 to compete with the existing bikes in the segment.
