More Affordable Ola S1 Variant Teased
It will be the EV maker’s most affordable offering, set to debut on Independence Day (August 15)
Ola Electric is getting ready for August and has shown a preview of a new version of their electric scooter. This new version might be a more affordable version of the S1 Air e-scooter.
You might remember that we talked about Ola planning to launch a Classic version of the S1 Pro. Well, it seems that the earlier teased version might actually be their most affordable option yet and will be based on the S1 Air.
Even though it will have the same basic structure as the S1 Air, it will cut costs in a few ways. The design will be simpler, similar to more affordable e-scooters like the discontinued BGauss A2. In the preview, you can see that the new scooter has a small headlight and simple round mirrors.
The Suzuki Access 125 Now Gets A Dual-tone Colour! TVS’ Upcoming Creon-based e-Scooter Teased Again! TVS Jupiter ZX Drum SmartXonnect Launched At Rs 84,468It might not have all the features and could come with a TFT console, but not with a touchscreen. But it should still have more features than its competitors in the affordable e-scooter category.
As for performance, expect it to be a high-speed e-scooter, reaching top speeds of 75kmph and hopefully travelling around 100km on a single charge.
Interestingly, Ola first launched the S1 Air at about Rs 85,000 to make it affordable, but changes in subsidies raised the price to over Rs 1 lakh. With this upcoming scooter, Ola might be aiming to fulfil its promise of having a product priced around Rs 85,000.
The new scooter will debut on August 15 and will directly compete with petrol scooters like Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter, as well as other electric scooters like the BGauss B8, Hero Electric Optima, and Okinawa Praise Pro.
