The e-scooter boasts of a 200kg load capacity
Powered by a 250watt motor. Gets two battery options offering a range of up to 130km. Features include remote ignition, charging port, and phone holder. A personal usage-focused variant is also available.Last month, we reported that Okinawa will be introducing four new electric two-wheelers, including the Oki100 bike and the maxi-scooter-styled Cruiser, by March 2021. Now, the brand has launched the Dual to cater to delivery-oriented small businesses. Priced at Rs 58,998 (ex-showroom), the electric scooter can be customised as per the business right from the showroom.
Conceptualised to handle last-mile logistics, the Okinawa Dual has provision for carrying goods at both ends. In fact, at 200kg, it’s claimed to have the largest loading capacity among scooters. Aiming to cater to various businesses, the company offers nine accessories to carry even heavy equipment like gas cylinders or cold storage boxes for medicines.

Keeping in mind the Okinawa Dual’s purpose, the e-scooter gets a hub-mounted 250-watt motor that propels it to a maximum speed of 25kmph. Also, it can be ridden without a driving license. To keep range anxiety at bay, the Dual is equipped with a 48W 55Ah detachable Li-ion battery that has a claimed range of 130km. It can be charged 80 percent in 1.5 hours and entirely in about 4.5 hours.
In terms of hardware, the Okinawa Dual gets a telescopic fork and dual shocks to handle the suspension duties. Braking duties are handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the rear. The scooter is fairly light, tipping the scales at just 75kg.
Despite being designed for commercial use, Okinawa has equipped the e-scooter with features such as remote ignition, a phone holder with a charging port, and an LCD console.
Those looking to buy this low-speed e-scooter for personal use can opt for the variant with a pillion seat that is equipped with a low-spec 48W 28Ah battery. It can be charged to 80 percent in 45 minutes and entirely in about 3 hours, offering a range of up to 60km.
Okinawa is offering a 3-year or 30,000km warranty on the powertrain and a 3-year warranty on the battery.
The Okinawa Dual goes up against the Hero Electric’s B2B e-scooter the Nyx HX, however, the latter comes with a superior motor and a respectable 210km range. For reference, the TVS XL100 HeavyDuty i-Touchstart variant costs Rs 49,751 and has been a trusty choice for similar tasks since quite a while now but it is costlier to run than the EVs.
