Ola Electric S1, S1 Pro Bookings Delayed, Again!
....And this time, the delay isn’t a short one
Ola Electric has postponed the booking dates for the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters to December 16, 2021, a massive 45-day delay from the previously declared date (November 1, 2021). This doesn’t, however, come as a surprise, since Ola Electric had to delay its first round of sales too, but by a week rather than 1.5 months.
But why the delay? We believe Ola Electric is struggling to meet customer demand, considering over 1 lakh scooters were pre-booked even before the first sale. Moreover, when the portals were opened last time, the S1 and S1 Pro were sold out in just two days, so the company could be trying to maximise production before reopening the portal this time around.
Whatever be the case, this must be a bummer for potential customers and Ola fans. Add to this the comments about Ola made by Rajiv Bajaj (CEO, Bajaj Auto), and it all must feel like adding insult to injury. Additionally, deliveries for the customers who bought the scooter in the first round of sales have not commenced yet, which could further hurt the brand in the coming few months.

Meanwhile, if you’re in the market for a readily available electric scooter, take a look at the Ather 450X or the TVS iQube Electric.
