Ola S1 Diwali Update Pack Announced, MoveOS 3.0 To Get Fancy New Features

Modified On Oct 11, 2022 03:00 PM By Ishan Lee for Ola S1

The S1 and S1 Pro could break their solemn, traditional EV silence for a sportier thrum

Ola has launched its most affordable e-scooter, the S1 Air, at the price of a petrol-powered scooter. Read the launch story here.

Ola Electric is gearing up to launch MoveOS 3.0, the next OTA (over-the-air) update for the S1 and S1 Pro e-scooters this Diwali. The video teasers claim Ola’s 5.5kW motor will now ditch the traditional motor silence, most associated with EVs, for something sportier.

Of course, we are expecting Ola to do more than just give the motor a digital synthesized voice. In fact, this new feature could be a part of ‘Moods’, a feature which allows both a UI theme change and a dedicated ‘engine’ revs sound generated from its onboard speakers.

Earlier this year, Ola CEO Bhavesh Agarwal had Tweeted details of the new update, highlighting features like hill-hold control, proximity unlocking, voice assistance, calling, updated regenerative braking, fast charging and key sharing.

We also wish Ola calibrates the throttle response better by reducing the power-lag, but only the update will tell what’s new and what’s not. According to the teaser, the update will be rolled out just ahead of Diwali on October 22.
