Ola S1 Electric Scooter Top 5 Highlights
Here’s all you need to know about Ola’s most affordable e-scooter
Ola Electric has launched the more affordable S1 e-scooter at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom). It comes with a bunch of interesting features and boasts some pretty impressive figures.
Design
The Ola S1 is based on the S1 Pro and features the same design and styling elements as its elder sibling. Instead of the S1 Pro stickering, it features model-specific branding and the e-scooter can be availed of in the same five colour choices as the S1 Pro, which are: Porcelain White, Jet Black, Neo Mint, Coral Glam and Liquid Silver.
Price
The Ola S1 is priced at Rs 99,999 (effective ex-showroom) and is a massive Rs 40,000 less expensive than the S1 Pro e-scooter. This makes it significantly more affordable than other premium e-scooters in India including the Bajaj Chetak and the Ather 450X.
Ola has said the current asking price of the S1 is an introductory amount and that it will only be limited to a select number of units (yet unspecified), valid only till the end of August 2022.

The S1 gets a 3kWh battery pack that offers a claimed 128km true range and takes five hours to fully charge. This is a little over 40km less than the claimed range of the S1 Pro which features a larger 4kWh battery.
Motor and Performance
The e-scooter is powered by the same 5.5kW electric motor with a peak output of 8.5kW as the S1 Pro. However, the S1 claims a top speed of 95kmph as opposed to S1 Pro’s 116kmph. Even its acceleration time is slower with 0-40kmph in 3.8sec and 0-60kmph in 5.9sec. All of this, of course, is in a bid to extract the maximum possible range from the S1’s smaller battery pack.
Features
The most interesting bit about the S1 is that even though it is considerably more affordable than the S1 Pro, it still gets many similar features. It packs a 7-inch colour TFT touchscreen instrument cluster with Music Playback, Navigation, Companion App and even a ‘Reverse’ mode. Additionally, the MoveOS 3.0 set to arrive this Diwali could bring even more features to the S1.
