Ola S1 Pro Electric Scooter Purchase Window Opens May 21, 22
Expect the EV’s prices to go up by Rs 5,000 - Rs 7,000 this time around
Ola Electric’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has tweeted that the latest purchase window for the Ola S1 Pro scooter will be open this weekend, on May 21 and 22. Customers who have reserved the scooter prior will have early access to this purchase window.
This is the first purchase window for the scooter since the announcement of a price hike in March. The Ola S1 Pro currently retails at Rs 1,29,999, ex-showroom, Bengaluru, including FAME II and State subsidies. Ola Electric has kept the price intact ever since it was launched back in August 15, 2021. However, the EV’s price is expected to increase by Rs 5,000-7,000. That being said, Ola has revealed that there is a more affordable e-scooter on the way.
The company will also be introducing MoveOS 2.0 OTA update, which is currently in beta-testing and will add Bluetooth connectivity and navigation features, soon.
Also, a month ago, Ola had recalled 1,441 e-scooters amid rising fire incidents. Earlier this month, preliminary findings from a government investigation revealed that recent EV fires were due to faulty cells, battery management and casings.
In a related development, TVS has revamped the iQube Electric line-up with the introduction of three new variants, one of which is said to cover up to 145km in the real world on a single charge. Recently, an owner of the Ola S1 Pro apparently achieved a range of 202 km on a single charge and was gifted a brand new Ola S1 Pro by Bhavish Aggarwal.
