Ola S1 Scooter Gets Tied To A Donkey and Dragged Around Town
Upset customer protests the EV maker’s lack of response to scooter issue
Yet another day with Ola Electric trending on the internet and social media. This time around, an angry customer in Beed, Maharashtra, tied his Ola S1 electric scooter to a donkey and dragged it around town. This was done as a form of protest against the lack of response by the company to the customer’s complaints.
Sachin Gitte, a trader from Beed district, reportedly received the delivery of his Ola Electric scooter on March 24th; and just six days after, the e-scooter stopped functioning. An Ola mechanic did attend to Gitte’s S1 after he complained to the company. However, the scooter was not fixed. After that Gitte reportedly called the customer care multiple times yet got no satisfactory response from the EV maker.

The whole ordeal pushed Gitte to protest against Ola on Sunday with banners and posters urging people not to buy the company’s products and calling it a ‘Fraudulent company’, all the while dragging the scooter tied to a donkey in a public protest.
Moreover, Gitte has also complained to the consumer forum about the e-scooter not being fixed or replaced by the company. He has further suggested that the government take action against the EV maker as, according to him, there is no financial protection for consumers from the company.
Apart from that, Ola Electric has issued a voluntary recall of 1,441 units of its electric scooters amid rising EV fire incidents. The concerned e-scooters will be undergoing a diagnostics of battery, safety and thermal systems.
