Both the EVs are brimming with features. However, the Ola S1 packs a few more tricks up its sleeves. It lets you access calls, music and SMS (available on the Ather 450X). Not just that, you don’t even need a key to lock or unlock your Ola scooter, that can simply be done by a smartphone. The Ola S1 gets a normal and sports mode, meanwhile, the Ather 450 Plus gets eco and ride mode.

Both the scooters have LED illumination all around. In terms of underseat storage, the Ola S1 claims to offer 36-litre while the Ather 450 Plus gets 22-litre. While the Ola S1 has enough space to store two half-face helmets, the Ather can only manage one.

Furthermore, the two scooters also differ in the range affair. Here’s the claimed range by the two e-scooters:

Claimed Range

Ola S1

121Km

Ather 450 Plus

There is just a 5km difference between the claimed certified range of the two electric scooters. Both the electric scooters employ a 2.98kWh lithium-ion battery. But, the Ola e-scooter’s unit can be charged up to 75km in 18 minutes using the fast charger whereas the Ather can charge up to 10km in 10 minutes.

The asking price for the Ola S1 is set to Rs 99,999 and the Ather 450 Plus retails at Rs 1,25,490 (both ex-showroom and inclusive of the FAME II subsidy). Considering the features and the theoretical numbers, the Ola S1 seems to be a better option. However, Ather already operates in Bengaluru and 19 more cities and Ola aims to offer the S1 in 1,000 cities. Moreover, Ola also aims to set up 1 lakh charging stations in 400 cities across the country, out of which 5,000 will be set up in the first year in 100 cities.
