BS6 Effect: Hero Pleasure Discontinued

Modified On Mar 18, 2020 12:07 PM By Praveen M. for Hero Pleasure

The scooter has been removed from the brand's official website

Launched in 2006, the Hero Pleasure was initially marketed to be a scooter for women. The scooter was later upgraded to comply with BS4 emission norms. In May 2019, Hero launched the new generation model, called the Pleasure Plus.  The Pleasure Plus recently got a BS6 update whereas the Pleasure didn’t.

Hero MotoCorp seems to have discontinued the previous generation Pleasure as the company has removed the scooter from its website. It isn’t surprising considering Hero introduced the new generation scooter, the Pleasure Plus, in May 2019 and recently, the brand updated it to comply with BS6 emission norms too. The same cannot be said for the older generation Pleasure.

Hero-Honda launched the Pleasure in 2005, targetting women. It came with the popular tagline: “Why should boys have all the fun?”. The biggest update it received was BS4 compliance in April 2017. Post that, the scooter wasn’t really on top of the priority list for Hero, especially considering the brand launched the all-new model in 2019.

The Hero Pleasure was powered by a 102cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor which churned out 7PS and 8.1Nm. It had a claimed top speed of 77kmph. It featured a trailing link front suspension, single rear shock absorber, drum brakes on both ends with a combined braking system as standard.

While most dealers don’t have stock of the older generation model, some might. If you’re lucky, you could even get a good discount as a part of BS4 clearance sale. That’s because Hero MotoCorp may not be able to sell the scooter once the country upgrades to BS6 emission norms from April 1 onwards. However, due to the recent coronavirus pandemic, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has appealed to the Supreme Court to extend the deadline. You can read more about it here.
