Simple One Launched With An Additional Battery; Gets A Claimed Range Of Over 300Km
The additional battery pack costs Rs 35,000
Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based startup, has introduced an additional battery pack for its electric scooter, the Simple One. The variant with the extra battery pack is priced at Rs 1,44,999 (ex-showroom).
The standard version of the e-scooter is powered by a 4.8kWh battery pack (one fixed and one removable) that lends it a claimed range of 236km in ideal conditions. Now, with the additional 1.6kWh battery, the total capacity stands at 6.4kWh, lending a claimed range of over 300km in ideal conditions.
The additional battery pack is priced at Rs 35,000, and it shall be placed in the e-scooter's boot which would ultimately eat up the storage space. Customers can opt for this additional battery pack during the final payment.

While the extra battery is a much welcome addition, it does reduce the scooter’s practicality factor by eating up into the storage space. That said, the boot space is generous at 30 litres, and we do hope the extra battery pack doesn’t take up too much room. Recently, the company also upgraded the electric scooter's motor that delivers 4.5kW and 72Nm. This motor takes the e-scooter from 0-100kmph in 2.85 seconds, making it about 0.10 seconds quicker than before.
In India, the Simple One competes with the Ather 450X and the Ola S1 Pro.
