Soriano Motori Electric Motorcycles’ Specifications Revealed

Spanish brand Soriano, which was known for its racing engines back in the day, is set to make a comeback with three new electric motorcycles 

• Soriano used to make racing engines in the early ‘30s and ‘40s.
• The Spanish bikemaker will launch three new electric motorcycles this year. 
• The motorcycles get a 3-speed gearbox. 
• Slated to launch in October.

Soriano was a niche motorcycle brand known for its racing engines in the ‘30s and ‘40s. The Spanish brand is set to make a comeback with three new electric motorcycles called the Giaguaro V1 Gara, Giaguaro V1S and Giaguaro V1R. These motorcycles will be launched worldwide in the coming three months.

While the V1 Gara and V1R are naked electric motorcycles, the V1S is a sporty faired electric motorcycle. Like their ancestor, the new electric bikes get a girder front suspension. They also get forged alloy wheels with a perimeter front disc brake.

All three motorcycles get a 30kW liquid-cooled brushless motor but offer different outputs. The V1S delivers 60kW, the V1R makes 72kW and the V1 Grara makes 75kW. While the V1S and V1R claim to accelerate to 100kmph in 4.4 seconds, the V1 Gara claims to do it in a scant 3.5 seconds. Another highlight of the bikes are that they get a 3-speed gearbox with a hydraulic clutch. The first gear offers better low-speed torque, second gear is optimal for city riding while third gear is an overdrive gear meant for the highway.

The bikes get dual lithium-ion battery packs that offer a peak output between 15kWh and 20kWh. The range for all three varies from 120km to 160km.

Being a niche company, the possibility of Soriano launching its electric bikes in India seems highly improbable. However you will soon have access to high performance electric bikes like the Ultraviolette F77 and Emflux One.
