Suzuki Burgman Electric Scooter India Launch Likely On November 18
The Japanese company has sent out a 'Block Your Date' invite for that day
Suzuki sent a 'Block Your Date' invite, scheduled for November 18. The tagline reads: "Witness The Unveiling Of More…..Per…..".
We reckon this hints at the launch of the Suzuki Burgman Electric, the first e-scooter in India from the Japanese manufacturer. After all, the Burgman Electric has been spied several times, that too in a production-ready form.
Design-wise, it looks pretty similar to its petrol-powered sibling, except that it comes in a white shade with blue highlights, indicating that it's an EV. Another major difference is that instead of the single shock absorber in the petrol-powered Suzuki Burgman Street, the electric one comes with a twin shock setup, presumably to handle the battery pack's weight and ensure better weight distribution.
Up front, it uses the same telescopic fork as the regular Burgman. Expect the electric scooter to offer smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation as standard.
The Suzuki Burgman Electric is likely to have a frame-mounted motor (could be a 4-4.5kW unit) offering performance equivalent to that of a 110cc petrol scooter like the Honda Activa 6G. Expect a claimed range of around 70-90km, which should be enough for regular commutes. The battery pack could be fixed to keep the costs in check.

It will go up against the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube Electric, Ather 450X, and the Ola S1.
